Mission Update

Haha so I was thinking of a title for this, and Mission Update was the first thing that came into my mind.

Anyways, I was going to put on here everything I haven't been able to put on here because of time but I changed my mind. There is something I want everyone to know about though that I haven't mentioned on here.

I am bisexual; I have been open with it for maybe almost a month now. I really don't feel like explaining to everyone how I know but just take my word on it I know I am and I am proud of it.

I met an amazing guy who is really cool and a lot like me. His name is Tyler Gunter. He is awesome! I'm really glad I met him. He understands me a lot too. Who knows where this could go!

Well yeah, that's all I have to say for right now. I promise I'm going to keep in touch.

Assistant Field Commander

Yep that is me!

Auditions were Friday and I got the position of Assistant Field Commander and I also got Drill Sergeant for the Flute section since no one in that section auditioned.

A field commander is the person that directs the marching band. Most of the time there are two field commanders, one in the front and one in the back.
The assistant field commander basically does everything a field commander is supposed to do other than direct.

Well it is a very good thing for a sophomore to get that position so I am very lucky, but I did work hard for this position. I do believe I can be a good leader for the band

I have a lot of responsibility in my hands this summer and I plan to do my best at it.
I have always wanted to do something amazing for the band and now I've taken the first step of that. I am so excited

I am also going to do my best when working with the flutes

Step Up

It is time for me to step up and be a leader. I've always wanted an opportunity to be a leader for the band. I really believe I can do great things for the band as a leader.

Auditions to be a drill sergeant or field commander are Friday. The Seminars are Wednesday and Thursday. I want to be a drill sergeant.

A drill sergeant is the leader of the section. If I were to get it, I would be the leader of the trumpet section. A drill sergeant also has a lot more responsibility than that. It takes a lot of work to be a good drill sergeant.

There is only one other trumpet player who is auditioning for the same thing, Taylor Simpson. She is a really good trumpet player and I will not be mad if she gets it. Of course I will be upset but I mean I'll get over it easily. That just means I would have to work harder and get better.



So I've been practicing this whole week so far and I feel really good about my audition. One thing we have to do is direct about half a piece of a song, which is a song we played for contest. There are some flaws I have to fix within the next two days but I can do it.
I have little trouble cueing and indicating crescendos and decrescendos, which are basically bigger versions of <>. Crescendos tell the band to start soft then get louder and opposite with decrescendos. Get it?

Alright so that is the other part of auditions; cueing, dynamics, and changing times.

I am actually doing really good at this! I believe I have the potential to get drill sergeant and to be a leader. So wish me luck =]

It's Showtime

Those Damn Yankees!

HA! We showed them!

Well anyways as you may have known, Boonville High School's Thesbian Troupe #950 presented Damn Yankees April 23 - 26, ending today. Here's how it went down!

PERFORMANCE

Thursdays

show I was so pumped. Finally all of our hard worked was going to pay off and be shown to the public. Well the first time we go out is in the song "Six Months Out of every Year" We come out in the middle of the song then freeze. I saw the audience when we where walking out and I felt the adrenaline rushing through my veins. I was like wow I'm actually doing this. So I gave it my all and it was amazing.
I screwed up on my solo in the number "The Game". It wasn't like huge or anything. Nobody noticed but me and 2 other people. I easily fixed it but I still felt bad. I got over it though. Another number we did was "Two Lost Souls" and man let me tell you, the way the audience reacted to our dancing made me more energetic. After Monday night's performance of this song it suddenly became my favorite.
That was my first show ever and I don't think I will ever forget it. Things were perfect =]

Friday

Was even beter!
I didn't screw up my solo so it was amazing, but I think I forgot a dance move during it but again it wasn't noticeable.
The audience was great and I was great and the show was just amazing, of course.

One thing did happen though.
It was in Two Lost Souls. So we are up to our freezing spot in the dance number and Kirby and Kristine had finished their tap dancing. Cam and Spence have their own little dance segment for 4 counts of 8. Well they accidently did an extra 2 counts. Well after the counts we do an 8 counts of a shimmy thing to get to our places for the next dance segment involving all of us. Well in the middle of our shimmy, the dance music started back in and we all had to wait for it to repeat again (The beggining of this dance is 3 counts of 8 that repeat so we only did it twice since th screw up. Get it? If not, too bad!). It wasn't terribly bad though. it looked like it was supposed to happen

Saturday

Was even bettererer! =]!
No screw ups, from me at least!

Two Lost Souls didn't get any better though! Cameron and Spencer did it right. This time it was the pit's fault. They added an extra count of 8. So by time the shimmy was over, we got to our places but the music wasn't playing. So i don't know what anyone else did but I just kinda acted drunk. My mom said that she didn't notice a screw up (until she saw it Sunday.)
It worked out I guess.

Sunday

Was perfect I must say!!!
Linda (aunt), Shannon (sister), Ashton (niece), Tristan (nephew), Trenton (nephew), Mom, and Hope (aunt) were all there.
I was kinda nervouse but got over it easily.
Now Two Lost Souls, went PERFECT! No screw up's what-so-ever!
I'm so proud!
Sunday was our best performance and I'm glad.
I'm really gonna miss this cast and this show!

Final Thoughts

I loved the show. It went way better than I expected.
I got thousands of compliments from people I know and don't know, you have no idea! If you thought I had a big head now, imagine how big it is now! Lol =]
Everyone can tell I love doing the shows and singing, acting and dancing and it's very true. I love it!
I'm never giving up this and plan on sticking with it the rest of my life.
I'm definitely gonna miss my senior friends!
I had a blast and I love almost everyone in the cast!

CAST PARTIES

Thursday

The cast party was at Steak and Shake, but most of the guys went to Bdub's, which I would have loved to have gone to. It was really fun though. I had great food and it was a blast you don't even know! We left at like 12:30. Levi took me and Kel home.

Friday

This cast party was at Nathan Beasley's! We played rock band, had lots of food, and just chilled and hung out! Afterwards, I had to take Olivia home. She only lived a few minutes from his house so I was game. Michael came with me. I got home at like 1 that day

Saturday

This cast party was the best of them all! We went to Stephanie Bolin's house and hung out there. Cody, her bpyfriend, gave me a ride. It was nice to get to know him. He has a hell of an awesome car too! He is a really cool. Well it was about 1 when Auburn, Kasey, Olivia, and I left. we went to Sharon Elementry to meet up with Stephanie Tulley and Andrea West. When we got there, they were telling us that these two high old guys were like creeping them out. They told them they were loking for a dog. yea right! So we saw flashlights and they started yelling at us from a distance telling us to be quite and shit. They ended up calling ther cops on us for some stupid reason. So three cops show up and surround us. It was really stupid but funny. We left after that and went home. Then we saw cops like all night that night. I laughed. It was fun. I got home at 2:30 that day.

Sunday

Was our pizza party at the high school. We voted for academy awards coming up, ate, and signed each other's programs and posters. We signed bats for Judy, Gail, and John. It was a lot of fun and I almost cried. I'm going to miss everybody!

Well that was how the rest of my whole week went. It was very busy and I'm very tired. Now that the musical is over I don't know what to do with all the free time I have.
I'm thinking about performing for the academy awards we are having coming up but I don't know. I do know I'm doing a skit though with friends.

We'll see what happens

What I'm saying is

I'm tired of all the gay ass drama always happening in my life. Yea, I know I'm complaining and some people have it worse than me. I know this isn't going to solve any of my problems, but it will make me feel better because I exactly don't have a guy or girl I can talk to about anything anymore (things are getting better though).

So let me tell you a story from one of my problems going on recently =/

Alright today confirmed all thoughts of this one guy being mad at me. I am not mentioning any names FYI. We were somewhat close but I didn't seem to have any special kind of spark with him, not love spark either lol. So I knew we weren't going to be very close friends you know, like majorly close.
Well back to the story! So this girl, no names, comes up to me and was like

At first I was kinda like yea I knew it but then I got pissed because apparently, we were being asses to this person Saturday and not wanted to be around him as much as I'm around Kelli (SOUNDS A LOT MY OTHER FIGHT!)
Okay so yea now I know he's mad at me and that he was trying to make me jealous around Brandan. I don't really care but he's not taking my best friend from me.

I'm not trying to take Kelli from him at all either!

I just like hanging with Kelli, she's easier to be with without having to worry about getting yelled at all the time.

I'm sorry if you don't understand this at all and I just think it's stupid that he gets mad at us and doesn't tell us about it to play with our minds!

I felt so bad for Kelli! I hate it when people cry and I can't do a thing about it.
I'm glad after rehearsal today that a lot of Drama Kids went to Tastee Freeze.

We had fun I needed it.

OH YEA I remember lol! =]

Drama was fun! We did teasers for the high school today during IRP. This was the first year drama did this. A lot of people commented on me today about it too. Things like:

Wow kid, you were amazing!
Don't EVER stop at what you do you were awesome!
Your face was so cool, I loved it!
Wow I didn't know you were that talented!

So yea, this is why I have a big head! =]

Then after school we had another dress rehearsal.
It was pretty good today.

Normal stuff happened.
Other than when we finished.

Brett Kinder was there and when he walked in the dressing room, everyone decided they wanted to do the Helicopter.

It was a lot of fun to do.

3 days till Damn Yankees Opens up!

Okay so it's not really THAT dramatic lol, but I do have great news.

I, Dustin Schroeder, got selected to be in the summer musical "Oklahoma!".

That's great considering how bad my dance auditions went. They must have knew i would work hard or something like that.

Alright well I got selected to be in the chorus, which does do dancing, and that's all that matters to me.
And you I'm only a freshman so it's all good.

I was pissed off about it but I expect too much from myself. i expect myself to be amazing and when I fail at that it really brings me down you know.
I like shooting for the gold!

Alright well go see Oklahoma! July 16, 17, 18 at 7 and July 19 at 2.

Teasers Week

Okay so we finished up out teasers for Damn Yankees last Wednesday. The first night of teasers, Tuesday, I got so sore that when we were done, I ended up getting sick and had to lay in the bath tub and relax with some music.

Wednesday I felt so much better. The teasers went great and I had a blast.

Later Wednesday night, I had the auditions for the summer musical. We were a bit late but that was fine. The boys there already knew the dance for auditions so I had to learn it with the girls after all the vocals. So I think my vocals went pretty good. I really wanted to show off but I barely had to sing till I was done.
Then when I learned the dance for the auditions that night, I felt so good about this. This stuff was easy compared to our dances. Well by time i got to go, I went totally blank and forgot the dance moves. It pissed me off so much you have no idea.

Thursday rolled around and it was time to start school again. Not nuch went on there, just really tired throughout the day.

Friday was our Band Contest at Central in Evansville. I was so excited but nervous at the same time. Kelli and Sam went along and were by my side almost as much as they could. Sam took pictures of course.
So we did our performance, did our sight reading, and went back to our room to wait for our results. I was amazed by what the scores were!! One the three songs we played, we got a 9, 10.5, and 11. A perfect score is a 9 and then the worse it is the higher the number. So we were close to perfect on all of them. On our sight reading piece, we got a 12, which is really good for sight reading. So we got a football to put on our gold plaque that we received.
I was so happy!!!!!!!!! :D

Oh and the bus rides were so fun it wasn't even funny!




We got home at 12AM. I didn't go to bed till 1 though. I had to get up at 7 to be at the high school at 8 for dress rehearsal.

Dress rehearsal went really good today as well. The pit was kinda tired but that was reasonable since we just had contest. I was like, dead in the morning but kinda got over that.
Afterwards, Kelli, Sam, Brent, Terri, Denise, and I went to go get Sam a tux for prom and to go eat. Then we went to Terese's new house to see how it loo ks. After that, we go pick up Brandan and hang with him for a while at Kell's house. Finally Sam and Brandan leave and I stay at Kells.


Tomorrow I am actually going to get to sleep in!!!!! YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have no idea how happy I am about this!!!

Okay so yea today after school we had drama rehearsal right. Well we got to the song Two Lost Souls and in the song, I have to carry Stevie on my back on all fours. Well, I landed really hard on the floor and landed wrong on my dick. I got up and was like holy shit, and was like dancing around in pain and stuff. It hurt really bad, like even worse than getting kicked there like 10 times by a girl in high heels!

I didn't think I would ever let go of my crotch. I was doing this like all day.

Sorry bout the nakedness, but this is like exactly what I did, even when I got home. And as of right now, my dick still hurts!

MR. VILE

Wow, Mr. Vile! I swear I love this guy. I can talk to him about anything. If you don't know him, he is the band director at BHS. He is so down to earth with everyone and understands what teens these days are going through. That's what I like about him. He knows about my father situation and he has offered himself to help me in anyway and anytime i needed it. He is such a great person and I would love to have him as my dad.
I just wanted to let everyone know that he is a truly amazing man. I would love to explain more but words just don't descibe him in the ways that he is.
