Jesus Christ Superstar

So, Boonville High School's Thesbian Troupe #950 did its production of "Jesus Christ Superstar". It was a big success and sold out 3 of the 4 showings. Boonville has sold out for a musical since "Grease" which was 13 years ago.

On opening night, near the end of the song "Everything's Alright," a breaker blew and the pit had lost their power. Things didn't get fixed for a while but we did a good job of improving between songs while we waited. According to many, they didn't even notice that wasn't part of the show.

Overall, it was an amazing perfomance all four nights, and I am really gratefull I got to be a part of the cast in this amazing show. Below is a slideshow of some pictures taken by parents.

Superstar Supper

So, just like last year and the many years before, drama had its annual hamburger dinner.

The dinner was at 5 and the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar performed a teaser in the auditorium at 7.

It was a big success and I'm proud of the cast and everyone else involved.

Jesus Christ Superstart

Boonville High School Thespian Troupe #950 did an EXCELLENT job with Damn Yankees last Spring.

This year, we are performing the musical, Jesus Christ Superstar. Like I said in a previous blog, I got the part of an Apostle. Judy a few days aago gave the Apostles without names a name for this one scene. My name has been declared as John.

Our show has been coming along AMAZING. The dancing is great, and so is the singing. We have made it through the first act and working on a few of the numbers in the second act.

Opening night is Thursday, April 22 at 7PM and continues Friday and Saturday, April 23 & 24 at 7PM and Sunday, April 25 at 2PM

HA! We showed them!

Well anyways as you may have known, Boonville High School's Thesbian Troupe #950 presented Damn Yankees April 23 - 26, ending today. Here's how it went down!

PERFORMANCE

Thursdays

show I was so pumped. Finally all of our hard worked was going to pay off and be shown to the public. Well the first time we go out is in the song "Six Months Out of every Year" We come out in the middle of the song then freeze. I saw the audience when we where walking out and I felt the adrenaline rushing through my veins. I was like wow I'm actually doing this. So I gave it my all and it was amazing.
I screwed up on my solo in the number "The Game". It wasn't like huge or anything. Nobody noticed but me and 2 other people. I easily fixed it but I still felt bad. I got over it though. Another number we did was "Two Lost Souls" and man let me tell you, the way the audience reacted to our dancing made me more energetic. After Monday night's performance of this song it suddenly became my favorite.
That was my first show ever and I don't think I will ever forget it. Things were perfect =]

Friday

Was even beter!
I didn't screw up my solo so it was amazing, but I think I forgot a dance move during it but again it wasn't noticeable.
The audience was great and I was great and the show was just amazing, of course.

One thing did happen though.
It was in Two Lost Souls. So we are up to our freezing spot in the dance number and Kirby and Kristine had finished their tap dancing. Cam and Spence have their own little dance segment for 4 counts of 8. Well they accidently did an extra 2 counts. Well after the counts we do an 8 counts of a shimmy thing to get to our places for the next dance segment involving all of us. Well in the middle of our shimmy, the dance music started back in and we all had to wait for it to repeat again (The beggining of this dance is 3 counts of 8 that repeat so we only did it twice since th screw up. Get it? If not, too bad!). It wasn't terribly bad though. it looked like it was supposed to happen

Saturday

Was even bettererer! =]!
No screw ups, from me at least!

Two Lost Souls didn't get any better though! Cameron and Spencer did it right. This time it was the pit's fault. They added an extra count of 8. So by time the shimmy was over, we got to our places but the music wasn't playing. So i don't know what anyone else did but I just kinda acted drunk. My mom said that she didn't notice a screw up (until she saw it Sunday.)
It worked out I guess.

Sunday

Was perfect I must say!!!
Linda (aunt), Shannon (sister), Ashton (niece), Tristan (nephew), Trenton (nephew), Mom, and Hope (aunt) were all there.
I was kinda nervouse but got over it easily.
Now Two Lost Souls, went PERFECT! No screw up's what-so-ever!
I'm so proud!
Sunday was our best performance and I'm glad.
I'm really gonna miss this cast and this show!

Final Thoughts

I loved the show. It went way better than I expected.
I got thousands of compliments from people I know and don't know, you have no idea! If you thought I had a big head now, imagine how big it is now! Lol =]
Everyone can tell I love doing the shows and singing, acting and dancing and it's very true. I love it!
I'm never giving up this and plan on sticking with it the rest of my life.
I'm definitely gonna miss my senior friends!
I had a blast and I love almost everyone in the cast!

CAST PARTIES

Thursday

The cast party was at Steak and Shake, but most of the guys went to Bdub's, which I would have loved to have gone to. It was really fun though. I had great food and it was a blast you don't even know! We left at like 12:30. Levi took me and Kel home.

Friday

This cast party was at Nathan Beasley's! We played rock band, had lots of food, and just chilled and hung out! Afterwards, I had to take Olivia home. She only lived a few minutes from his house so I was game. Michael came with me. I got home at like 1 that day

Saturday

This cast party was the best of them all! We went to Stephanie Bolin's house and hung out there. Cody, her bpyfriend, gave me a ride. It was nice to get to know him. He has a hell of an awesome car too! He is a really cool. Well it was about 1 when Auburn, Kasey, Olivia, and I left. we went to Sharon Elementry to meet up with Stephanie Tulley and Andrea West. When we got there, they were telling us that these two high old guys were like creeping them out. They told them they were loking for a dog. yea right! So we saw flashlights and they started yelling at us from a distance telling us to be quite and shit. They ended up calling ther cops on us for some stupid reason. So three cops show up and surround us. It was really stupid but funny. We left after that and went home. Then we saw cops like all night that night. I laughed. It was fun. I got home at 2:30 that day.

Sunday

Was our pizza party at the high school. We voted for academy awards coming up, ate, and signed each other's programs and posters. We signed bats for Judy, Gail, and John. It was a lot of fun and I almost cried. I'm going to miss everybody!

Well that was how the rest of my whole week went. It was very busy and I'm very tired. Now that the musical is over I don't know what to do with all the free time I have.
I'm thinking about performing for the academy awards we are having coming up but I don't know. I do know I'm doing a skit though with friends.

We'll see what happens

Alright I need to get to bed. I'm extremely tired!

OH YEA I remember lol! =]

Drama was fun! We did teasers for the high school today during IRP. This was the first year drama did this. A lot of people commented on me today about it too. Things like:

Wow kid, you were amazing!
Don't EVER stop at what you do you were awesome!
Your face was so cool, I loved it!
Wow I didn't know you were that talented!

So yea, this is why I have a big head! =]

Then after school we had another dress rehearsal.
It was pretty good today.

Normal stuff happened.
Other than when we finished.

Brett Kinder was there and when he walked in the dressing room, everyone decided they wanted to do the Helicopter.

It was a lot of fun to do.
Then later we sang Put On Your Sunday Clothes from last years musical Hello Dolly
It was kinda cool I guess lol

3 days till Damn Yankees Opens up!

After School

Alright, school is over now and I've had like 3 showers today. One this morning, one during gym, and one after school because we took character pictures today and my hair was all gelled up with product.

But yea school sucked kinda. It was just another average day!

Some things that are going good:

1. I'm doing great on my facial expressions for Damn Yankees. Thanks Judy!
2. Me and a close friend whom I lost are getting back to normal
3. My grades are good, can be better, but I'm happy
4. My face is clearing up
5. My penis has grown even bigger! HAHAHA JK! I'm running out of things to say.

All right well next week are the days of our teasers for our musical. I'm so excited and I get to miss school. Contest for band is also next week and so are auditions for the summer musical "Oklahoma" I'm so excited for all of this!!!!!

So wish me luck on everything that is going on!

Well I will post some fun stuff in a bit, right now I'm going to go eat, and watch my favorite TV show One Life To Live.

(Good Friday) School Day 2

Okay so here I am again at school, but this time it has just begun. It's a black day, my least favorite day, and I am currently in typing, but next period I will be in swimming. We get to play basketball. Then after swimming is BIOLOGY!!!! Yea sorry you had to hear that too! Then my last period of the day is Spanish. All we are really doing in Spanish is taking a test over our vocab words. It's not that bad. I like Spanish! =]

So yea today is good Friday and we weren't supposed to be in school but the dumb weather or whatever messed it up. I don't really care though. School is sorta fun as long as you have friends.

After school today we have character pictures for the musical. I'm kinda excited for that.

Alright well I'm gonna jet before I get in trouble. I'll post more fun things some other time tonight since I get to come home early because there is no drama rehearsal.

School Day

Okay well I'm in third period and it's my least favorite period of the day. I am in biology. To make it even worse, it's advanced biology.

This day has gone great so far. I still have lunch and Spanish and then drama after school.

Brittney said I'm a little more perverted today, but that's because I walked up to her in the hallways and was like "He baby you come here often?"

So yea that wasn't too perverted but oh well.

Not much funny stuff happens in the school day until drama starts which is right after school. We are getting our pictures taken today.

Alright well I gotta help with a power point for this project I'm doing so I gotta fly.

Those Damn Yankees

Soundtrack Image

So as you may know, Boonville High School is doing Damn Yankees for the Spring Musical this year. I got the part of Mickey, he's a baseball player. I also get to do a lot of dancing.

Damn Yankees is about an old man named Joe Boyd who would just love to see the Washington Senators beat the Yankees. He wants it so much he is willing to sell his soul to the devil, Applegate. Applegate doesn't like it, but made a deal to turn Joe into the greatest ball player so he can play for the Senators to beat the Yankees, and changes his last name to Hardy. The part that Applegate doesn't like is that he gave Joe an escape clause. He has until a certain day to wim the penant. If he doesn't win by then, he will be forced to work for Applegate.

So during the show, games go on, and Lola, Applegates seductive assistant, tries to convince Joe Hardy to fall in love with him so that he will be stuck to work for Applegate also.

Another event going on is that the reporter, Gloria, starts of kind of suspicious of Joe Hardy. Later on in the show, Applegate "accidentaly" tells Gloria a false rumer about Joe which leads them into court, on his last day of being Joe Hardy until he is stuck as Joe Hardy forever and working for Applegate. This causes alot of difficulty for Joe.
